It is my distinct honor to officially announce my candidacy for re-election as Sheriff of Sevier County, Tennessee. This decision comes after much prayer, thoughtful discussion with my family, and countless conversations with friends and citizens throughout our great county.
The people of Sevier County deserve a Sheriff who brings not only experience and education but also proven leadership and an unwavering commitment to serve. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with other law enforcement agencies in the area, partnerships that are essential to keeping our community safe. Sevier County is more than just a place on the map; it’s our home. It’s where we work, raise our families, and build our lives. We all have a shared responsibility to protect it, and I pledge to continue doing everything in my power to ensure its
safety.
Immediately after graduating high school, I proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Security Forces/USAF Law Enforcement for nine years. During my enlistment, I was deployed to the Middle East in support of peace keeping missions related to Operation Desert Storm. After receiving an honorable discharge, I returned home and began my career with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy in the Patrol Division. From there, I was honored to be promoted through the ranks, ultimately serving as Chief Deputy. In 2022, you entrusted me with the privilege of serving as your Sheriff.
My educational background includes an Associate of Applied Science in Public Safety/Law Enforcement from Walters State Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, both from Bethel University. I believe that a strong foundation in education, experience, and innovative training and tactics is vital for leading effectively in law enforcement.
I consider myself incredibly blessed to have worked alongside and learned from two outstanding leaders, Sheriff Bruce Montgomery and Sheriff Ron Seals, over the course of 22 years. I will forever be grateful for their guidance, leadership, and mentorship. During those years, I gained valuable experience in many areas of the Sheriff’s Office, building a deep understanding of its operations.
As your Sheriff, I remain fully committed to providing professional, consistent, and proactive law enforcement services. Our entire team, Law Enforcement and Corrections, at the Sheriff’s Office, works hard every day to serve you with integrity and dedication, and we will always be responsive to your needs.
It is truly a blessing to serve in what I believe is the best county on Earth. I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as your Sheriff. I have listened to your concerns, and I will continue to work diligently to address the challenges ahead.
